Colombia Might Replace Hermes Series UAVs with Baykar’s UAVs TurDef
Colombia is planning to replace its Israeli Hermes 450 and Hermes 900 UAVs with Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 armed UAVs and Bayraktar TB3 UCAVs, respectively.
Ecuador-based El Universo reported that Colombia is considering the acquisition of Baykar’s UAVs to replace its Israeli Hermes line of UAVs. Colombia is an operator of both the Hermes 450 tactical UAV and Hermes 900 MALE UAV. The UAVs were sold to Colombia as a package within the scope of a deal signed in 2012.
One of the key reasons for the retirement of Hermes’ line of UAVs is likely to be their unarmed status in Colombian service, only serving as ISR platforms.

ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol stated that ALP 300-G Early Warning Radar and ALP 100-G Multifunction Radar were exported for the first time in his 2025 recap.
The 2025 Recap of ASELSAN (Z Report) included the first export of ALP 300-G and ALP 100-G radars, which are critical components for Turkiye’s air defence network in two different ways. No details on the amount or the customer were provided.
ALP 300-G
ALP 300-G (Formerly EİRS and ERALP) is an S-band AESA Early Warning Radar for long-range use. The radar can detect and track air-breathing targets, ballistic missiles, anti-radiation missiles, ballistic missiles, and low RCS targets from long range.
In addition to sharing information with air defence assets, ALP 300-G can relay data in AWACS format.
The radar is carried by a 8x8 truck. The export customer might use a different truck that has sufficient carriage capacity or receive the radars mounted on the platform that Turkiye uses.
A variant of ALP 300-G, ALP 310-G, is used as SİPER long-range air defence system’s searching radar with the capability for midcourse updates to SİPER missiles. The radar works in conjunction with the AKREP 1000-G AESA Multifunction Fire Control Radar.

ASELSAN has exported the ASELFLIR 500 EO/IR system, which has succeeded CATS, to more than 20 countries, with some of them being NATO members, as of 2025.
ASELFLIR 500, as the new general-use EO/IR mainly intended for UAVs, has seen a rather quick rise in exports following its introduction. The 2025 recap of ASELSAN included that more than 20 countries have signed deals for the EO/IR system, with some of these being NATO members. It would not be a surprise that Poland is among said NATO members, as it is operating the Bayraktar TB2 armed UAV.
ASELFLIR-500 is the successor to the CATS with significant improvements in weight and resolution for all camera types. The new electro-optical system offers a 4096x2880 HD Day Camera, 1280x720 HD IR and SWIR cameras, and a laser designation range of 35 km.
